To waste two consecutive timeouts then not have 2-3 plays called at the end of this game is totally inexcusable! Matt Flynn didnt help either by moving as slow as molasses. Tough spot for a young kid, hence the McCarthy criticism, but Flynn, shouldve just winged it.

Wow. I am speechless.

Flynn has played in 28 NFL Games and this is the NFL. Under no circumstance is it acceptable that they wasted the final 20 seconds of the game and only got one play off. UNREAL!

Gotta agree with you. As a head coach, you can't leave the kid QB in their without giving him exact instructions what to do in several situations. And wasting those timeouts was brutal. They really needed them in the last 30 seconds.

do you guys have a 448 area code? I just got a text from someone about Michael Vick and I don't recognize that at all. Looked it up and it says Montreal but I'm not sure. Is that possible?

I hardly put any on Flynn........He couldve showed a little more hustle to the line on that last drive though.

Didnt look like he was allowed to do anything or make any calls without waiting for McCarthy.

It is all on McCarthy there. He wasnt prepared and didnt have the plays called.

Flava, are you serious? Before today the kid had attempted 46 pass attempts in 3 seasons. He played great in his 1st start. Being on the sidelines for the majority of 27 games does not constitute playing in 27 games. Only on-field game action will bring real experience. I often enjoy your views on games, but that is honestly one of the dumbest comments I have ever seen out of you.

you do realize those 28 games are as a holder right? he had attempted 17 passes in the nfl before coming in around halftime last week

He played at LSU where I'm sure he has been in many situations like this before. I disagree with you. He's been around long enough. This is the NFL for crying out loud and yes mistakes are acceptable but at this level you better have a football brain, rookie, sophomore or 10 year veteran. That was just sheer stupidity. The blame is also on the coaching staff for not discussing this in the timeout they wasted "Hey Matt, on a completion, rush up to the line and this is the play we are going with".

I'm just saying he's been around, that's all. He won a National Championship, you expect a lot better football IQ from a guy like that.

in game experience and being on the sidelines are two totally different things, as is college football and nfl. if you noticed any time the pats blitzed he looked confused as shit and was getting sacked, running for his life, or throwing the ball away. He does not do well under pressure, which showed in the final seconds. If he has all day, he can read and make good decisions, but so can tons of backups, its those that can read and release that make it in the nfl.

At LSU he was 3rd string one year, the backup the next 2 and then the starter for his senior year. So yeah, he has probably been in that situation a couple of times. But the NFL is a huge difference to college. If you don't play, you don't get experience. Do I think he could have reacted better with 23 seconds to play? Yes. Do I think it's his fault? No, because it was obvious his coach did not give him the play ahead of time and it looks like he was trying to get the call from the sideline but it simply wasn't coming in.

Anyways, had they ran the ball on 1st down when they had the Pats on the ropes instead of dropping back getting sacked for an 8 yard loss, they probably would have won that game and they could have saved their last timeout. I blame McCarthy for that loss.

That shit is on McCarthy and he took no blame for it.

What about the first 40 seconds following the two minute warning where they went 5 yards in two plays? Inexcusable on teh 30. They were playing like the y had the ball on teh 15 and REALLY NEEDED to burn time.

McCarthy should of had two or three plays already thought up, thats a fukkin coaches job.. Flynn was trying to listen to his headset and that cost him some seconds, probably should of just ignored it and called his own play, maybe they should of just set up and tried something..

Haha, saying he's played in 28 NFL games is misleading bottom line. I disagree about McCarthy being an idiot...I thought he tight-roped a fine line between pounding the rock enough and letting the kid sling it around. I did think late he could've leaned on pounding the rock more. The o-line was getting a great push and while I respect not curling up into a ball early...I thought late they could've just pushed them back and smashed them right in the chin....the last drive should have been faster pace and more ground driven, but at least he didn't choke Matt Flynn to death.

And I will put some on Flynn. McCarthy hurt his team with the timeouts....however, the entire unit, Flynn, o-line, THERE IS FIFTEEN SECONDS LEFT..LINE THE FUCK UP, PUT A HELMET ON SOMEONE OR RUN A ROUTE....pretty insane to just stand around waiting for a play... I didn't think these millionaire athletes were that domesticated, who knew.
